The launch of these tyres could also be called an attack of the clones, because on the European tyre market a single tyre can be bought under several names: TIGAR, TAURUS, STRIAL, RIKEN, ORIUM and KORMORAN.
This time it is an all-season tyre, the All Season, which Michelin is beginning to sell in its third brand tier. This tyre was developed in Michelin's design office and is intended for use in Central and Southern European countries, where winter air temperatures are around zero and sometimes lower, because the rubber compound ensures grip even at slight sub-zero temperatures.
In its central part, owing to the shape and the drainage channels, the tyre's tread resembles a fish skeleton, which reduces the risk of aquaplaning, and this technology is called Fishbone. That is why the tyre copes perfectly with wet road surfaces and slush. The design of the tyre's shoulder blocks improves manoeuvrability and reduces the tyre's noise level. This tyre also has an optimised rubber compound, which ensures stable grip across a wide temperature range.
The tyre will be available in 22 sizes, in diameters from 13 to 18.
