Goodyear Vector All Season 4

In Goodyear's all-season range the Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 has been replaced by the Vector All Season 4, and the manufacturer describes the name change as a deliberate break between generations rather than a cosmetic change. The tyre is aimed at passenger cars and SUVs, including heavier premium models, and has been reaching the shops gradually since May 2026. In Auto Bild's 2026 test of five premium all-season tyres in size 225/40 R18 the new model won with the top rating "vorbildlich" (exemplary), and the testers' conclusion was blunt: you can say goodbye to the Gen-3. The second set of measurements comes from TÜV SÜD report No. 713349044-PM, where in size 205/55 R16 the rivals were Continental, Michelin, Pirelli and Bridgestone. That test, though, was commissioned by Goodyear itself.

An all-season tyre spends far more time on wet asphalt than on snow, and that is exactly where both tests rated the model highest. In the TÜV measurements it had the best wet braking of the five tyres at 35.00 m, and on a wet, low-grip surface it stopped after 45.00 m against 52.57 m for the worst tyre in the test. In wet handling Auto Bild recorded 74.7 km/h, again first place. Dry braking is the model's weakest figure: 37.9 m at Auto Bild and 40.00 m at TÜV, fourth place in both cases. On snow the model was either first or second behind the Michelin.

The tread keeps the directional V pattern of the Vector line, but the block architecture has been reworked. The central longitudinal blocks are stiff and hold the car steady on dry asphalt, while the densely spaced Diapason Blades sipes together with the 3D Blade Sipe System create biting edges for wet and snow-covered surfaces. On snow the three-dimensional sipes open up and dig into the surface, yet under cornering loads they support one another, so the steering does not go vague. Dry Contact Plus is Goodyear's name for an enlarged contact patch with a more even pressure distribution under braking. Together with the new compound, these elements make up what Goodyear calls WeatherReady Technology.

The compound recipe has not been made public. Goodyear points to an improved polymer matrix and resin system that reduces surface wear and rolling resistance without losing grip. The measurements bear this out only in part: rolling resistance of 7.61 kg/t in the Auto Bild test earned second place, while 7.50 kg/t in the TÜV report took third. Noise and comfort are more modest - 64.6 dB put the tyre in fourth place in the Auto Bild test, and in the Tyre Reviews aggregate comfort scored 71.6 points against 89.4 points on wet surfaces. The aggregated overall score there is nonetheless 9.6 out of 10.

The EU label differs by size: on Goodyear's product page the 225/40 R18 92V tyre is listed with class C for fuel efficiency, class B for wet grip and 72 dB exterior noise, plus the 3PMSF snowflake symbol. The sidewall also carries the EV-Ready marking, which Goodyear has applied to every new replacement tyre since 2024 - the tyre suits electric cars and hybrids as well as vehicles with a combustion engine. From 19 inches upwards a laser-etched High-Contrast Sidewall nanotexture is added - a visual rather than a performance feature. Rim protection (RP) is also available on some sizes. At the Rīgas Riepas shop the Vector All Season 4 is available in 24 sizes with wheel diameter from R16 to R21 inches.
