Frequently asked questions

If you still have the code card that came with the set, you can order a new key from the bolt manufacturer. If you do not have the card, a tyre service will remove the locking bolts and you will need a new set. Keep the new card separately from the car.
Three things must match: the thread (for example M14x1.5), the seat (cone, ball or flat - it must match the rim) and the length. The car determines the thread and whether it uses bolts or nuts; the rim determines the seat. Measure the length of the old bolt from the underside of the head to the tip.
The roadworthiness inspection rules do not mention spacers directly. What matters is that the wheel dimensions stay within the limits approved by the car manufacturer and the wheel does not stick out beyond the bodywork - otherwise it counts as a defect at the inspection. With spacers you will always need bolts that are longer by the spacer thickness.
A universal sensor fits many cars, so before fitting, the specific car's protocol is written to it with a TPMS tool - a tyre service does this. Plug&Drive sensors need no programming - they can be fitted straight away.
The sensor has a built-in battery that cannot be replaced. Sensor manufacturers usually state a service life of 5-10 years. When changing tyres, a tyre service usually replaces the sensor's valve seal, nut and cap.
