Nokian's announcement of the Snowproof 3P does not mention its predecessor even once. Tyre databases nevertheless list it as the Snowproof P's replacement, so the succession here is the databases' claim rather than the manufacturer's. Something else is clear: the construction has changed. The casing now holds a Power Lock Core with Performance Bead Rings - a reinforced internal structure that has brought with it a new tread profile, a reworked mould and a larger rim protector. On all sizes from R17 upwards, aramid fibres are built into the sidewalls (Aramid Strong Sidewalls) against pothole and kerb impacts. In its class the model ranks above the comfort-focused Snowproof 2, which remains in the range. The tyre is studless and intended for Central European winter conditions on passenger cars, SUVs and crossovers.
The tread has a directional pattern based on Alpine Performance Concept 3.0, with three functionally distinct zones. For snow, the Arctic Zone uses two types of 3D sipes that interlock and work both in traction and under braking. Water is cleared by the Aqua Zone with its blade-like grooves, which take care of aquaplaning resistance and braking on wet surfaces. The third zone, the Performance Zone, uses its block geometry to keep the tyre tracking straight and stable through corners. Wear is shown by the DSI numerical indicator moulded into the tread.

The Alpine Grip Compound rubber mix combines renewable resins with silica. As Nokian stresses, this is the highest proportion of silica the company has ever used in a winter tyre developed for Central European drivers; the manufacturer does not publish the exact figure. Another figure has been published: according to the manufacturer, up to 40% of the raw materials are renewable or recycled and certified to ISCC PLUS, and by 2030 the company wants to reach 50% sustainable materials. The Electric Fit emblem means the tyre has also been developed and tested for the demands of electric cars: greater weight, instant torque and noise requirements. It suits hybrids and electric vehicles just as well as cars with a combustion engine.
The model has not been through an independent test yet. The tyre was announced on 18 March 2026, but it only reaches buyers more widely in the autumn 2026 season. That is why it is not in the ADAC, Auto Bild or Tyre Reviews archives yet, and the measurements for its predecessor, the Snowproof P, must not be carried over to the 3P. For now the only third-party mark is the Premium TÜV SÜD Tire Mark. In comparative test drives the 3P was run alongside the Bridgestone Blizzak 6, Continental WinterContact TS 870 P, Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 and Michelin Pilot Alpin 5. In every discipline it was rated on a par with these rivals, reifenpresse.de reports. Nobody published the scores for the individual disciplines or the braking distances. The only figures that can be compared are the EU label ratings: fuel efficiency B or C, wet grip A or B and external rolling noise of 72 or 74 dB. Every size carries the 3PMSF marking.
The manufacturer promises to expand the range to 98 products in 96 sizes. Production takes place at the Oradea plant in Romania, with certain sizes made in Finland. The SilentDrive acoustic foam layer is specified for the model, but only on part of the size range. Nokian does not promise a mileage figure in kilometres in Europe, but the customer does get a two-year guarantee against accidental damage and a satisfaction promise. At the Rīgas Riepas shop the Nokian Snowproof 3P is available in 40 sizes with wheel diameter from R17 to R21 inches.
