About the brand

Alcar

Alcar is the rim accessories brand of the Austrian ALCAR group of companies: TPMS sensors (tyre pressure sensors), their service kits, programming tools and centre caps. The group was founded in 1984 under the name BBV Beteiligungsgesellschaft, and its headquarters are in Hirtenberg near Vienna. In 2003 the parent company was renamed ALCAR Holding GmbH. ALCAR started out as a local distributor of steel rims in Austria. Today it is one of the largest suppliers of alloy and steel rims on the European aftermarket, and it also owns the rim brands AEZ, Dezent and Dotz. The group has 28 companies in 16 European countries. TPMS sensors have been in the range since 2014. The ALCAR Sensor line includes pre-programmed Plug & Drive sensors, which according to the manufacturer fit 96% of cars on the European market, and freely programmable Universal sensors with almost 99% coverage. For programming and diagnosing the sensors the manufacturer offers its own tools, such as the ALCAR TECH600.
