Alcar HybridRad is a steel rim brand that also has its own centre caps. The brand belongs to the Austrian ALCAR group, founded in 1984 as BBV Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. The group is headquartered in Hirtenberg, Austria, and describes itself as the market leader in the European aftermarket for passenger car rims. It also owns AEZ, DOTZ, DEZENT and ALCAR Stahlrad rims. HybridRad combines the strength of a steel rim with the design of alloy rims, and the manufacturer calls these rims a cheaper, fully fledged alternative to alloy rims. They are made from quality steel in black, silver and grey, in 15-17 inch sizes, in 4- and 5-bolt versions, and they have their own centre cap. ALCAR states that the rims are TÜV tested and hold ABE and ECE certificates. Since the start of 2012, all ALCAR rims, HybridRad included, have been prepared for fitting tyre pressure sensors (TPMS sensors). Before buying, check that the bolt pattern (PCD), offset (ET), centre bore (DIA) and bolt seat match your car.
