New for winter 2019/2020 from NOKIAN
This winter, the Finnish tyre manufacturer NOKIAN is offering customers a new tyre model, the WR SNOWPROOF. This tyre has been specially developed for the Central European region. It delivers excellent technical performance on wet road surfaces and in wet snow and slush. The tyre skilfully combines Scandinavian experience with an understanding of Alpine winters, so it adapts easily to unpredictable weather conditions. The WR SNOWPROOF is based on the Alpine Sense Grip concept, which lets the tyre adapt to different road surface conditions during winter.
Every tread block and sipe on the tyre plays its part, ensuring safe and comfortable driving. The braking efficiency enhancers, called Brake Boosters, are positioned at the rear of the tread block, on the outer edge of the tyre, increasing the contact area with the road surface.
The wide central rib ensures directional stability and steadiness at high speed. The wide shoulder area of the tread provides good handling. During acceleration and braking, the edges of the ZIGZAG sipes open and close, thereby ensuring grip on wet road surfaces.
A new rubber compound has been developed for the tyre, one that adapts to different weather conditions.
