Vredestein is a Dutch tyre manufacturer founded in 1909 in Enschede. Since 2009 it has belonged to India's Apollo Tyres group. Vredestein is known for high quality and elegant design - its tyre tread patterns were designed by the renowned Italian designer Giugiaro. Its most popular lines include Ultrac summer tyres, Wintrac winter tyres and Quatrac all-season tyres. Vredestein tyres are made in Europe: following Apollo Tyres' announcement of 25 April 2025, production moves from the Enschede plant to Hungary, while the brand's development centre remains in the Netherlands. The brand regularly earns high ratings in ADAC and Auto Bild tyre tests. Vredestein is a great choice for Latvian drivers who appreciate Dutch quality and stylish design at a reasonable price.

Vredestein: when the all-season tyre is not a by-product

The all-season tyre as the centre of the brand

Vredestein was founded in 1909 in the Netherlands and has belonged to the Apollo Tyres group since 2009. Unlike most brands, for which an all-season tyre is an addition, the Vredestein Quatrac family is one of the cornerstones of the range and the line the brand most often appears with in European tests.

Ultrac, Wintrac and Quatrac

At the core of the range are three main families: Ultrac for summer, Wintrac for winter and Quatrac for all-season use. Our Vredestein offering runs from R15 to R24, so it covers large wheels too, but in the smaller sizes below R15 there is no choice.

The table lists the most stocked models from our current range, not the manufacturer's full model list.

There are essentially no studded Vredestein tyres in our range. The brand's winter tyres are of the Central European type, built for wet asphalt rather than ice.

Who Vredestein suits best

Vredestein suits drivers who want one set for the whole year and mostly drive cleared roads, as well as owners of newer cars on large wheels. The Quatrac is the logical choice if an all-season tyre is being considered at all.

If you need studded tyres, a diameter below R15, or tyres for ungritted rural roads, our range has better-suited Nordic brands for that. Whether an all-season tyre suits a Latvian winter is discussed in Budget or premium tyres; the winter requirements are explained by CSDD.

Frequently asked questions about Vredestein

Yes - it carries the 3PMSF marking and may be used during the winter period. On polished ice a dedicated winter tyre will be better; an all-season tyre is a compromise for those who do not want two sets of tyres.
Essentially none. The Vredestein winter lines in our offering are studless and built for Central European conditions. Studded tyres should be looked for in other brands.
Both are all-season tyres; the Pro Plus version is intended for larger diameters and more powerful cars, while the base Quatrac covers the smaller sizes.
Since 2009 the brand has belonged to the Indian Apollo Tyres group. Production takes place in Europe, and the brand's history in the Netherlands begins in 1909.
