About the brand

Alutec

Alutec is a German alloy rim brand founded in 1996 by Ralf Schmid. Its range includes rims for passenger cars and SUVs, as well as centre caps and logos made for them. The manufacturer describes itself as a specialist in polished rims, and a polished surface is indeed the hallmark of many Alutec designs. In 1998 Alutec took over another German rim maker, RIAL; in 2000 the two companies built an alloy rim plant in Stalowa Wola, Poland, and in 2005 they merged into the UNIWHEELS group. Since 2017, UNIWHEELS, and with it Alutec, has belonged to the American company Superior Industries International, which also makes alloy rims for carmakers. When choosing Alutec rims, the bolt pattern (PCD), offset (ET) and centre bore (DIA) must match what the carmaker specifies for the particular car.
