Metzeler Roadtec Scooter - scooter and moped tyres developed for scooters with 10 to 16 inch wheels, carrying over solutions from the Roadtec 01. Metzeler highlights grip in varied weather, safety on wet and slippery surfaces, and handling and comfort. The tread has transverse grooves and short sipes for mechanical grip under braking, sword-shaped grooves to clear water and progressively varying block sizes. The compound has a high silica content, while in the radial rear sizes Metzeler uses a dual-compound tread - the centre strip takes up roughly 20 per cent of the width, and the shoulders, with a higher silica share, improve the feel at lean angles. The carcass is light and flexible, and the profile is rounded.
