The Riken tyre brand has its roots in Japan, where the company Riken Gomu Industry was founded in 1917. It started out in physics and chemistry research and turned to tyre manufacturing in 1956. Riken tyres have been exported to the US and Europe since 1979, and in 1992 Riken became a fully fledged tyre brand in the Michelin Group portfolio. The manufacturer calls it a modern European brand focused on safety at an affordable price, with the motto "Just efficient".
