MATADOR tyres
Change brand
Matador's history begins in 1905, when seven entrepreneurs in Bratislava, in what is now Slovakia, registered a rubber factory called Matador. The first tyre bearing the Matador name was made in 1925. Since 2007 Matador tyre production has been under the control of the Continental group. The manufacturer describes the brand as a "professional all-rounder", with tyres for passenger cars, SUVs, vans and trucks, and Matador tyres are sold in more than 80 countries.
The Rīgas Riepas range includes three Matador models. The Hectorra 5 is a summer tyre for which the manufacturer highlights comfort, low rolling resistance and short braking distances on wet surfaces. The MP93 Nordicca is a studless winter tyre for passenger cars. It carries the 3PMSF marking, and the manufacturer lists it as suitable for electric vehicles too. For vans and light commercial vehicles there is the MPS400 Variant All Weather 2, an all-season tyre with M+S and 3PMSF markings, so it can also be used in the Latvian winter.
