Chengshan is a Chinese tyre brand from Rongcheng in Shandong province. Its origins go back to 1976, when the Rongcheng Rubber Plant was founded there. In 1992 the first radial tyre production line built in China went into operation at the plant. From 2006 to 2014 the company operated as a joint venture with the American company Cooper; at the end of 2014 it bought out Cooper's 65% stake, and the group later took the name Prinx Chengshan. It has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2018 and also owns the Prinx, Austone and Fortune brands. The group operates factories in Shandong and Thailand, and its products are sold in more than 130 countries. It positions itself in the mid-to-high-end passenger car tyre market. In Europe, Chengshan offers both summer and winter tyres. Rīgas Riepas stocks the Maspire M/T tyres for off-road driving and mud, the Sportcat CSC-303 and the TrailerMaxx CR966 trailer tyres.
