VARTA BD B18 44Ah 440A

VARTA BD B18 is a 44Ah battery for cars. Case code LB1R means 208 x 175 x 175 mm, and those dimensions are what decide whether the battery drops into the tray. Cold cranking amps are 440 A to the EN standard, and the colder it gets the more that figure matters. The positive terminal sits on the right, looking at the terminals with the battery upright. The 44Ah capacity sets how long the battery can feed the electrical consumers with the engine off.

VARTA is a battery brand of German origin whose history begins in 1887, when Adolf Müller founded the company Büsche & Müller in Hagen; the VARTA name appeared in 1904. Today VARTA car batteries are made and distributed by the Clarios group. Every series uses the patented PowerFrame grid, which according to the manufacturer is up to 66% stronger and more corrosion resistant than other grid designs. The range runs from entry level to premium: Black Dynamic and Blue Dynamic for cars without a start-stop system, Silver Dynamic with up to 15% higher cold cranking amps than Blue Dynamic, while for start-stop cars the EFB batteries offer twice the cycle life of standard VARTA batteries and the AGM batteries three times. We offer 12 V car batteries from 35 to 120 Ah with cold cranking amps from 300 to 950 A.
