Perion is a battery brand of Hungarian origin - production was once based in Budapest, and in the 1990s the plant supplied batteries to the Suzuki and Opel factories in Hungary. The Budapest plant has since ceased production, and in 2002 the rights to the brand name were taken over by Varta, which today belongs to the Clarios group, one of the world's largest makers of starter batteries.
