The Michelin X-Ice Snow+ is an unusual case. The tread pattern is carried over from its predecessor, the X-Ice Snow, unchanged, and all the new engineering is concentrated in the rubber compound. This is a studless winter tyre for passenger cars, saloons, CUVs and SUVs, as well as pickups. The X-Ice Snow once replaced the X-Ice Xi3, and the new model continues the same line. It is intended for the 2026-27 winter season.

The compound is called Flex-Ice 3.0: a new elastomer, a different type of oil and a reworked silica filler. The aim is to keep the rubber flexible in severe cold, where an ordinary winter tyre hardens and loses grip. It is precisely flexibility on ice and snow that determines how quickly a car stops. The construction also employs MaxTouch, a contact-patch geometry that distributes braking, acceleration and cornering loads more evenly across the tread. As a result, the tyre wears more slowly and more evenly.

The tread is directional, V-shaped, with two types of sipe throughout the full tread depth. These full-depth 3D sipes retain their biting edges even once the tyre is partially worn, so grip on ice does not drop as sharply with mileage. In the shoulder area the blocks are grouped in twos and threes, and this so-called Piano Acoustic Tuning approach breaks up resonance and reduces rolling noise without a separate sound-absorbing foam.

The figures are modest but documented. In an independent TÜV SÜD test, the X-Ice Snow+ shows 14% better braking grip on wet surfaces than its predecessor, 7% on dry and 4% on ice. The tyre is certified for the Ice Grip symbol (ISO 19447), which requires a braking distance on ice at least 18% shorter than that of a reference all-season tyre. In the North American market the manufacturer offers a tread-wear warranty of up to roughly 60,000 km, although the terms may differ in Europe, so this should be viewed with caution.

Most sizes come with an XL load index. Michelin deliberately chose not to add a separate EV marking and kept the tyre universal: it suits internal-combustion cars, hybrids and electric vehicles alike. Lower rolling resistance also benefits EV range here, and according to the manufacturer's figures it is 34% lower than that of the three leading competitors. When the first evo4 sets arrive at the workshop, customers ask one question: is it worth switching from the evo3. Hankook unveiled this winter tyre for passenger and high-performance cars in June 2026 for the 2026-27 season. The Winter i*cept evo4 (W340) is the direct successor to the evo3 (W330) in the premium class.

The biggest change on paper is in fuel efficiency. Whereas the evo3 typically carried an EU label class D, the evo4 already shows class B and C in our catalogue, while wet grip remains at level B. Hankook cut rolling resistance by lowering the rubber's vulcanisation temperature and distributing silica more evenly through the compound. According to the manufacturer, the same compound keeps its flexibility and a large contact patch with the road in the cold.

In terms of wear, the manufacturer indicates roughly 14-15% greater mileage than the evo3, delivered by the redesigned contact surface. This, however, is a percentage estimate against the previous generation, not a specific promise in kilometres.

The tread has a directional V-shaped pattern, so the tyres are fitted in line with the direction of rotation. The lateral grooves have been widened to grip snow and channel away slush, the blocks are cut at an angle and the geometry of the central grooves has been redrawn; as Hankook emphasises, this gives better braking and traction on snow. The dense sipe pattern with 3D-Sipe and Semi-Sipe edges grips ice more securely. On the sidewall there is a 3PMSF snowflake and an M+S marking.

The tyre also suits electric cars and hybrids. For larger SUVs, Hankook offers a separate Winter i*cept evo4 SUV (W340A) version. At the Rīgas Riepas store, the evo4 is available [tyre_availability model="7038"].

For years, the Pilot Sport 4 was the tyre we recommended in the shop to owners of more powerful cars. When Michelin launched the Pilot Sport 5 in 2022, the first question was simple: what has changed? This is a summer tyre for premium saloons and sporty hatchbacks - cars for which grip and precise steering matter, but which still drive to work and along the motorway day to day. Michelin officially labels it as suitable for electric vehicles, so it is a worry-free fit for both hybrids and fully electric cars.

The tread is asymmetric and split into two zones following the Dual Sport Tread Design principle. On the inside, wide longitudinal grooves drain water away and hold the tyre more securely on wet roads, while stiffer blocks on the outer edge deliver grip in dry corners. The rubber compound is silica-based, and a hybrid aramid-and-nylon belt is woven into the casing - Michelin calls this Dynamic Response Technology and has carried it over from motorsport to make the steering more responsive at high speed. Even wear is looked after by MaxTouch Technology, which spreads braking and cornering forces across the entire contact patch. The matte sidewall finish (Premium Touch) looks good, and the built-in Wear2check indicator lets you quickly check how much tread is left.

Compared with its predecessor, Michelin promises 15% longer tread life, a figure the manufacturer bases on a DEKRA test. In independent wear tests, the approximate mileage is estimated at around 45,800 km. That is a good result for this class. Testers have rated the tyre highly too: in Auto Bild's 2025 summer tyre test, the Pilot Sport 5 took first place out of 21 tyres. On noise, bear in mind that some tests note slightly elevated pass-by noise, but in everyday driving it stays within the EU label limits.

A powerful car is hardest to keep under control on wet asphalt right in the middle of a corner, when the outer front shoulder takes on almost all of the lateral load. Continental's engineers took this moment as their reference point when designing the SportContact 7, a new ultra-high-performance summer tyre that replaces the SportContact 6 and is intended for sporty, powerful cars (Audi RS, BMW M, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG). The tread is asymmetric and stiff, with a low void ratio; in a corner the contact patch shifts to the outer shoulder, where locking elements hold the block in place and provide extra stability under high load. The adaptive pattern adjusts to both dry and wet surfaces.

Working beneath the stiff tread pattern is a soft Harmonized BlackChili compound, which Continental has precisely matched to the low-profile tread geometry so that grip on dry and wet roads does not come at the expense of mileage. The SportContact 7 is also the first tyre in its segment tailored to each vehicle class and weight. Its construction is not universal: the inner layers differ across sizes. On the tyre's sidewall there is an EV-compatible symbol; the manufacturer confirms that it suits both electric vehicles and cars with combustion and hybrid engines. In the required sizes, an SSR (Self Supporting Runflat) version is also available, letting you keep driving after a loss of pressure.

Compared with the SportContact 6, Continental cites the following improvements for a specific test size: mileage up by 10%, service life by 17%, the wet braking distance shortened by 8%, and dry braking improved by 6%. In independent wear tests the approximate mileage was estimated at around 37,500 km, though the real figure depends heavily on driving style, and some owners complain of faster tread wear. Overall, though, the tyre ranks highly: in ADAC's 2025 summer tyre comparison the SportContact 7 took first place out of 18 tyres.

According to the EU label, in most sizes the wet grip class is A, while the exterior noise level stays around 73 dB. The SportContact 7 is available at the Rīgas Riepas shop [tyre_availability model="99"].

A large SUV summer tyre has to cope every day with both the vehicle's own weight and long distances on the road. This is exactly the practical load the Hankook Ventus Evo SUV (K137A) is aimed at - an ultra-high-performance summer model for SUVs and crossovers that replaces the previous Ventus S1 evo3 SUV (K127A). The tyre was unveiled globally in November 2024 and went on sale in 2025.

The tread has an asymmetric pattern with chamfered blocks, wide longitudinal drainage grooves and shoulder grooves. Tie-bars are moulded into the base of the blocks, holding the shoulder section together in one piece, so wear stays more even and running is quieter. The rubber compound has a high silica content, which Hankook developed using an AI-enabled mixing process. This helps to distribute the silica more evenly while maintaining both good wet grip and long mileage.

The figures mostly come from the manufacturer itself. According to Hankook, the SUV version brakes 7% better on wet surfaces, handling in the wet is 4% more precise, and the tread lasts 30% longer than its predecessor. Independent confirmation has come from Auto Bild allrad: in its 2026 summer SUV tyre test (size 255/45 R19), the Ventus Evo took first place out of nine tyres with an overall score of 1.2, and the test results show the best wet braking in the field - 50.2 metres from 100 km/h. On mileage, one benchmark is useful: for the US market the manufacturer offers a limited tread warranty of roughly 48,000 km, though this is worth taking as a rough reference point rather than an EU warranty.

Quiet, economical running also matters day to day. On the EU tyre label the Ventus Evo SUV mostly rates class A for wet grip and A to C for fuel efficiency, while the exterior noise level stays within 68-71 dB; for Volkswagen Tiguan original-equipment sizes the manufacturer has pushed it even below 66 dB. The high block stiffness helps keep rolling resistance low and maintain stability at higher speeds. This tyre is available in the Rīgas Riepas store [tyre_availability model="3982"].

Anyone who drives a lot during the warm season quickly notices two things: the fuel bill and how long the tyres last. These are exactly the concerns the Michelin Primacy 5 Energy targets - the new summer tyre for saloons, estates and SUVs. It is the successor to the Michelin e.Primacy model and suits internal combustion, hybrid and fully electric cars alike.

The tread pattern is asymmetric, with widened longitudinal grooves that channel water away from the contact patch more quickly. The shoulder area and sipes have been redesigned so that the tyre is quieter and rolls more easily. Underneath, two Michelin technologies are at work: Energy Passive 2.0 Technology, with a functionalised elastomer and a new resin blend, reduces energy losses when the tyre deforms, while Michelin Slim Belt technology helps keep rolling resistance low and extends the range of electric cars.

The figures mostly come from the manufacturer and tests it commissioned, so they should be read with caution. Michelin states that this is the brand's first tyre with a triple-A rating on the EU label - A for fuel efficiency, A for wet grip and A for external noise. According to the manufacturer's data, the A-class rolling resistance saves up to 6% of fuel, or roughly 0.3 l/100 km, while the range of an electric car can increase by up to 10%, equivalent to as much as 70 km per charge. In tests carried out by TÜV SÜD, the braking distance on wet surfaces is up to 8% shorter than the predecessor's, even when the tread is worn down to 2 mm. On the wear side, in a DEKRA Test Centre test the estimated mileage was up to 40% longer than that of the compared competitors - one of the few independently measured figures for this tyre.

Independent magazine and laboratory tests have not yet been published. Only user ratings are available, so we are still waiting for the full picture. A practical point: in the shop, the EU label shows A for fuel efficiency in all sizes, while the wet grip class is A or B depending on the size. When customers in the shop ask how a good summer tyre is made, the Turanza 6 is a fine example. Bridgestone developed and manufactured it in Europe, spending a lot of time on computer simulations (Virtual Tyre Development) before the tyre even reached the test tracks. It appeared on the European market in January 2023, replacing the previous Turanza T005. This is a summer tyre for passenger cars and on-road SUVs, including hybrids and electric vehicles.

The most interesting part technically is the tread. It is asymmetric, with reworked shoulder blocks and water-draining grooves that reduce the risk of aquaplaning. Inside the blocks hide double angle 3D washboard sipes. They interlock with one another and make the blocks stiffer, so the tyre slides less and wears more evenly. On the sidewall Bridgestone has added an aerodynamic rimguard, which protects the rim while also reducing air resistance.

The rubber compound is completely new. It is called TECHSYN and was developed together with the company Solvay: a new polymer and filler give a more durable tread and better wet grip at lower rolling resistance. The second technology is ENLITEN, which Bridgestone has used here for the first time in a replacement-market tyre. It sheds the tyre's excess weight, saves fuel and helps it cope with the greater mass and torque of hybrids and electric vehicles.

The figures are convincing too. Compared with the Turanza T005, the manufacturer promises 22% greater mileage and 2 dB quieter running. Independent tests largely confirm this: in Auto Bild's summer tyre test the Turanza 6 earned an "exemplary" rating for balanced handling and a short braking distance, while the aggregated score on the Tyre Reviews portal is 8.7 out of 10.

The Barum Polaris 6 tyres continue the successful winter tyre range of the renowned European manufacturer owned by the Continental AG group. These tyres are a modern solution for the seasonal use of vehicles in winter conditions. They combine high performance, comfort and safety, making them an attractive choice for car owners who value reliability and confidence. Compared with the previous model, these tyres have undergone a number of changes that enhance their performance characteristics. The Barum Polaris 6 tyres have a symmetrical tread pattern with distinctive tread blocks. This design provides excellent grip on wet and snowy surfaces, along with improved handling and stability in a variety of winter conditions.

The Barum Polaris 6 tyres use the latest rubber compounds to ensure durability and reliability, and to help reduce tyre wear and improve efficiency in use. High traction performance is achieved using a specially selected rubber compound that inspires confidence even on slippery surfaces. The Barum Polaris 6's sipe system and tread pattern guarantee a high level of safety on the road in winter. The tyres effectively manage water drainage and prevent aquaplaning, which increases overall stability and reduces the risk of losing control. The Barum Polaris 6 tyres offer a comfortable driving experience thanks to balanced acoustics and a low noise level on the road. The manufacturer states that the noise level is 72 dB, which makes them fairly quiet tyres. This is important for car owners who value quiet and smooth driving.

FIRESTONE has announced the start of production of the ROADHAWK 2 ENLITEN, the successor to the ROADHAWK summer tyres. The latest Firestone tyre, developed with the innovative ENLITEN tyre technology platform, delivers best-in-class wet grip, greater mileage and improved fuel/energy consumption compared to the previous generation.

The new Firestone Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN summer tyre delivers 20 percent longer mileage than the Firestone Roadhawk and more than 10 percent lower rolling resistance to optimise fuel/energy consumption. Significant performance gains over the previous-generation Firestone Roadhawk have been achieved thanks to ENLITEN technology in the latest Firestone model, which was developed at Bridgestone's research and development centre in Rome. This means it can meet both the general performance demands of any vehicle and the specific requirements of electric vehicles.

The new Firestone tyre will be available from 2024 in 19 sizes.

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 winter tyres, the successor to the UltraGrip 9+ and UltraGrip Performance+, are suitable for passenger cars with an internal combustion engine or an electric and hybrid drivetrain. By September this year they will be available in 94 sizes,  from 14 inches in diameter to 21 inches. 

Goodyear developed the UltraGrip Performance 3 using Snow Protect technology to provide higher blade density with multiple gripping edges for better grip. “Snow claws” – longer grooves on the tyre's shoulder edges to improve performance when driving on soft or deep snow-covered terrain. In addition to Snow Protect technology, Goodyear has also included Wet Braking+ technology with an optimised round footprint to improve water dispersal. The technology works by pushing water to the sides of the tyre rather than forwards, thereby reducing the likelihood of aquaplaning. The tyre manufacturer has also added 3D sipes in the shoulder area to increase rigidity and performance on dry roads.         To ensure the UltraGrip Performance 3 is EV-ready, Goodyear has developed a tyre tread pattern that dampens noise and reduces interior noise. In the future, the product range is planned to be expanded with Goodyear SoundComfort technology to further reduce noise levels. The tyre tread is also made using a wear-resistant compound that ensures longevity.

The tyre was unveiled in autumn 2021 in South Korea to replace the Winter i*Cept RS2 W452.

A premium winter tyre for compact and mid-size passenger cars, designed to deliver stable handling and effective braking on snow, dry and wet road surfaces, as well as to reduce the risk of aquaplaning. The new tyre passed its pre-sale testing at the manufacturer's Technotrac proving ground in Ivalo, a town in northern Finland. It is noted that, compared with the predecessor model, the W462's braking power on snow has been improved by 4%, while its service life has increased by roughly 10%.

The Winter i*Cept RS3 tread has an inverted V-shaped design that positions additional diagonal slots in the opposite direction to the main drainage grooves. These are intended to improve the tyre's braking and grip on snow.

The three-dimensional serrated sipes, cut tightly into the surface of each flexible tread block, limit their deformation under load, which increases the tyre's longitudinal and lateral stiffness so that it responds quickly to steering inputs and, in extreme cases, decelerates very rapidly on snow and wet surfaces.

In the shoulder areas, thanks to the water-evacuation grooves that widen towards them, the dispersal of water and snow is accelerated at the Hankook W462's contact patch with the road. The W-shaped design of the model's drainage system improves stability on cold, slippery surfaces. Along the edges of the tyre's main tread grooves, additional small grooves are "engraved", increasing the contact area and guaranteeing the tyres maximum lateral stability in snowy corners.

The W462's high-dispersion silica rubber compound delivers excellent braking power on wet road surfaces and reduces rolling resistance.

The tyre will be available from July 2022.

Compared to the older Ventus Prime 3 model, it promises improvements in handling comfort and greater mileage

Unlike the Ventus Prime 3, the Hankook K135 Ventus Prime 4 design features more cuts and grooves, intended for better handling. The main change is the switch to 3D sipes, which prevent tyre deformation. This is also aided by the chamfering of the tread blocks, which makes the blocks flex less so the tyre does not lose its shape. Edge chamfering is already used by several manufacturers, especially on all-season tyres, where slight deformation matters, since the tyre needs the properties of both winter and summer tyres.

We are used to manufacturers mentioning the new compound when they launch new tyres. In the modern age of technology there are more ways to modify compounds, and everyone is looking for the right way to cut back on the use of natural rubber and replace it with synthetics that have better properties.

Among other things, the new compound has to ensure lower wear and greater mileage; compared to the Ventus Prime 3, mileage increases by 20%.

If you set off on a trip or another longer drive by car in summer, you will most likely run into summer rain or a storm. Hankook thought about this and improved the tread blocks so the tyre dries better and, above all, shortens the braking distance. The blocks of the new Hankook Ventus Prime 4 tyres are curved outwards, making water drainage from under the tyre more efficient. At first glance, the intricate design resembles airless tyre technology, which several manufacturers are developing as a replacement for the classic air-filled tyre. The block walls are covered with anechoic chamber elements that block noise and thus ensure a low noise level.

Hankook has its own vision and knows what it is doing. Reducing wear and increasing mileage is today's trend. This is also linked to the electrification of vehicle fleets, since electric cars need tyres with a greater load capacity and durability

With the new UltraContact, Continental now offers summer tyres with a very long service life and new safety standards. To this end, the tyre developers have reworked the compound and tread to combine more kilometres and maximum robustness with safe handling and low rolling resistance. To achieve a long service life, a new, highly durable rubber compound known as the YellowChili compound was developed for the tread. It contains a particularly durable polymer compound network that produces less abrasion than conventional compounds. Thanks to its high-quality ingredients, it also bonds well with the road surface, providing a high level of grip, which is important for a good launch, precise steering and a safe braking distance. Another way to reduce wear and extend service life is the specially developed tread. Combining a large number of sipes with rigid tread ribs provides high stiffness and stability, as pressure is distributed evenly across the entire contact patch. A short braking distance even on wet roads is one of the most important tyre characteristics. With the new UltraContact, the large number of differently angled sipes ensures good water drainage from the contact patch into the tread grooves and tyre shoulders. This so-called bevel-sipe concept - the bevel is a chamfered surface - speeds up water drainage, ensuring a short braking distance in the rain.

UltraContact is suitable for use on both conventional cars and electric vehicles and, depending on the tyre size, is approved for speeds of up to 300 km/h. UltraContact will be available from spring 2022 and will be produced in a range of sizes to fit rim diameters from 14 inches to 20 inches.

The tyres feature a new tread design, improved raw materials and optimised architecture. This provides 15% better wet grip and 10% longer service life compared to the previous Michelin Road 5.

The Michelin Road 6 range features the tyre manufacturer's Water EverGrip technology with a patented sipe design to improve wet grip. The sipe design means they open as the tyre wears, and a new groove and sipe angle with longer edges helps to channel water away to grip the road surface. In addition, a void ratio of 14% ensures a high level of grip on wet and dry road surfaces and remains constant through corners, giving the rider consistent feedback. A 100% silica compound improves grip on damp and wet roads, as well as in cooler conditions, without reducing the tyre's service life. Additionally, Michelin 2CT+ (2 Compound Technology) on the front and rear wheels provides riders with a variety of performance characteristics. A harder lower tread layer provides stability through corners, while a softer upper layer delivers grip and high mileage. Michelin has also applied Radial X Evo technology, which consists of 90° plies on the tyre crown to provide a large contact patch and grip when riding in a straight line or through a turn. The latest-generation Radial X Evo tyres also feature a sidewall that uses a specially designed ply fold to increase flexibility and absorb road imperfections. This technology ensures tyre stability at high speed. Aramid Shield technology reinforces the tyre casing to improve feedback, handling and stability, as well as reducing weight.

Goodyear is launching a new model in the Eagle F1 family to replace the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. With compatibility for electric vehicles and new technologies that improve dry-road performance, as well as handling and braking on wet road surfaces, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6's performance has been enhanced by adding an adaptive contact patch and an optimised cavity that adjusts to changes in load. During extreme manoeuvres, the tyre's contact area increases to ensure a higher level of grip.

In addition to its performance in dry conditions, the tyre's wet-weather performance has been improved by using a rubber compound with a new resin formulation. This gives the tyre a higher level of micro-contact with the road surface in damp and wet conditions. Goodyear has also carried over technology from its ultra-high-performance tyres to increase the flexibility of the Asymmetric 6, and this technology further improves grip.

The manufacturer's entire tyre range is EV-ready. This latest Eagle F1 has been designed with a noise-reducing pattern to reduce the noise level by 1 dB compared with the previous Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. In addition, new compound technology reduces the tyre's rolling resistance to help extend the driving range of EVs.

Production of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 will begin in 28 sizes from January 2022, with additional sizes supplied throughout the year. By 2023, the model's range will offer 65 sizes from 17 to 22 inches.

The Goodyear UltraGrip Arctic 2 is a studded winter tyre with unrivalled handling and braking performance on ice and snow. It is now the latest addition to Goodyear's award-winning European winter tyre range. Designed for drivers in the Baltic states and Northern Europe.

The Goodyear UltraGrip Arctic 2 passenger car tyres replace the UG Ice Arctic model and, compared with it, offer a more comfortable ride thanks to a lower noise level. The in-cabin noise level of the studded tyres introduced in 2021 has been reduced by 9%, as demonstrated by the manufacturer's internal test of two generations of 205/55 R16 94T XL tyres. This was achieved by optimising the distribution of the studs across the tread surface and by using a new stud cushion that absorbs noise when the stud strikes the road surface. However, the model's high performance in the harshest winter conditions is based on Snow Grip technology and unique anti-slip studs called Arctic Eagle Claw Stud. This combination allowed the UG Arctic 2 tyres in size 225/55 R17 101T XL to shine against rival tyres. Specifically, in a comparative test in January 2021, the rivals Continental IceContact 2, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 and Michelin X-Ice North 4 were weaker than Goodyear's new studded model in braking and handling on snow, as well as in braking on an icy surface. The Snow Grip technology of the Goodyear UltraGrip Arctic 2 provides grip in all snow conditions with wider grooves and a greater density of edges. The Arctic Eagle Claw studs have a sharp pin shape that ensures optimal grip on ice. In addition, the total number of studs has increased. There are now around 220 in a single tyre. To keep the studs anchored more firmly in the tread, the developers have used an innovative fastening system. This allows the tyres to deliver excellent performance throughout their service life.

The Continental WinterContact TS 870 is a European-type winter tyre for compact and mid-size passenger cars that, according to the manufacturer, delivers excellent handling on snowy and icy roads; it is characterised by high resistance to aquaplaning, good stability on wet asphalt, high mileage and low fuel consumption. The Continental WinterContact TS 870 is the successor to the WinterContact TS 850 and WinterContact TS 860 models, which have repeatedly won numerous comparison tests. It is no coincidence that the advertising slogan “All winter tyres are the same. Until the streets turn white” clearly conveys the ambition of the German group’s developers. Optimising the tread design and rubber compound has paid off: the WinterContact TS 870’s braking on ice has improved by 5% and its handling on snow by 5%. These positive changes also improved the model’s grip on snow and on wet and dry road surfaces. In addition, Continental’s engineers have achieved good results in terms of the model’s environmental properties: they increased the TS870 tyre’s mileage by 7% and its ability to reduce rolling resistance by 4%.

To make braking on ice safer for the Continental WinterContact TS870, 10% more tread blocks have been created in the contact patch. Their sharp edges and sipes act like windscreen wipers, thereby ensuring reliable tyre grip on an icy surface.

In the latest-generation Winter Contact tyres, the new Triple Sipe concept comes into play for safer driving on snow. Deep grooves running parallel to the diagonal grooves enhance the edge effect when driving straight ahead and when turning on snow. The 3D sipes provide an optimal pressure angle on snow, so the tread blocks penetrate deeper into the snow and can grip it better. When driving in the rain, the Continental Winter Contact TS 870 tyres expel water even faster thanks to the deep drainage groove in the centre of the tread. An updated rubber compound with special resins, which - as in the WinterContact TS 860 model - is called the Cool Chili Compound, also helps to improve braking on wet asphalt.

Another remarkable feature of the polymer compound is its flexibility, thanks to which the tyres make better contact with the road at low temperatures. It is also noted that the Cool Chili compound reduces wear and increases mileage, while helping to lower rolling resistance.

The new PIRELLI POWERGY summer tyres are designed for passenger cars and SUVs.

Thanks to new technologies, the tyre delivers strong grip and braking on wet road surfaces, as well as precise handling in all road conditions. The tyre's low rolling resistance ensures low fuel consumption and a high level of driving comfort.

In pre-sale tests, the POWERGY, compared with the Pirelli P Zero Nero GT, showed 10% better grip on wet road surfaces and 5% better grip on dry road surfaces. The POWERGY's classic asymmetric tread provides stable grip in all summer weather conditions. Three central ribs give the tyre a rigid structure, which improves handling, braking efficiency on dry road surfaces and even, longer-lasting tread wear. As they reach a wet surface, the smooth, rounded tread grooves quickly channel water away from the tyre's contact patch, so the tyre resists aquaplaning superbly and brakes faster. A single line of sipes ensures rapid water drainage from the contact patch. The optimised sipe design and layout reduce noise and improve ride comfort. The rubber compound of the PIRELLI POWERGY delivers excellent grip on both dry and wet road surfaces, while the special polymers in the compound give the tyre a longer service life.

Over the past few years, Michelin has invested considerable resources in developing not only high-end but also environmentally friendly tyres.  The result was the new e. PRIMACY tyre.

 e. PRIMACY is the first tyre to be released with an Environmental Product Declaration. An Environmental Product Declaration is an independently verified document that assesses the environmental impact of a product, in this case a tyre.  The Michelin e. PRIMACY is engineered to keep its impact on the surrounding environment to a minimum throughout its entire service life. e.  PRIMACY is the best-rated tyre in terms of rolling resistance. It is worth noting that the tyre's other characteristics, such as safety, grip and durability, remain at the highest level you would expect from a Michelin tyre. Michelin also supports the transition from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric and hybrid ones. Thanks to its excellent rolling resistance, the energy efficiency of electric vehicles is improved, which means a greater range on a single charge.           

This innovative tyre features a U-shaped groove to maintain a high level of water evacuation throughout the tyre's service life. The Max Touch construction increases contact with the road by distributing acceleration, braking and cornering forces, ensuring a longer tread life without any loss of performance.                                               

The tyre will be available from 2021, in rim diameters from 15 to 20.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport – the new UHP-class tyre that from the 2021 season will become the brand's new flagship, replacing the Potenza S001 model.

This tyre will allow the driver to effortlessly control the situation on the road and improve their car's performance. The asymmetric tread design, new reinforcement technology and optimised casing ensure maximum stability and controlled cornering precision, and improve steering response. The sporty profile shape provides stability, while the innovative rubber compound improves grip and ensures excellent braking. The optimised composition of the tyre's rubber compound helps ensure excellent grip on wet road surfaces.

The tyre has been awarded EU label class A for grip on wet road surfaces.

Potenza Sport  is available in tyre diameters from 18 – 22.
